Founded in 1933, the Academy currently hosts about 1,000 students in three study cycles – Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral – in its three faculties, two of which are based in Vilnius, one in Klaipėda.

All international students have to apply for a visa or temporary residence permit/certificate in the Republic of Lithuania depending on their citizenship. and the length of their studies at LMTA.

LMTA | Freshmans Guide

Three concert halls, three dance studios, cinema, balcony theatre, opera studio, Music Innovation Studies Centre, recording studio, library and reading hall, student cafe, lounge with kitchen, a number of rehearsal and practice spaces available from 7 am to 10 pm.

In frames of Erasmus+ programme, the LMTA cooperates with about 200 partner institutions and runs together students and staff mobility, strategic partnership projects, joint blended study modules (Erasmus BIP), and other project-based cooperation. From 2023, LMTA has joined European University Alliance FilmEU+ https://www.filmeu.eu/ 

Global networking is extended to countries outside the EU and includes Georgia, India, Israel, Senegal, Taiwan, and Ukraine.
